Are You Ready to Rock and Rule Your Financial Future?
Life is a funny thing. If you’d have told me several years ago that I’d be where I am now, I’d have laughed. Hysterically. Because just a few short years back, I was a flat broke single-mother of two. We lost my daughter’s father to gun violence, and I was left with the impossible task of being a parent, running a business, and somehow keeping us from a hungry and homeless fate.
No matter how well I thought I was doing as a realtor, I still ended up sitting at the table staring at the same mountain of bills every month, trying to figure out which I could afford to pay and which would have to wait. At the time, my 8 and 15-year-old kids didn’t know we were struggling – because I didn’t want them to know. Financial struggles are not a child’s burden to bear.
It seemed like no matter how hard I worked, there was no reward apart from enough food to eat, a roof over our heads, and my kids’ smiling faces each day. I knew I needed to do more for them, to set a better example, to be the pillar of strength and inspiration my daughter needed me to be. The same strength and standard my mother set for me.
But how? I had no sense of direction, no 5-year plan, and honestly, no clue how to manage my money. It was so ironic, seeing as my entire career was based on helping other people achieve their goals. So why were my own goals being abandoned on the backburner?
I then realized that I’d been pouring from an empty cup my whole life.
I just kept giving and giving while depriving myself of oxygen. It’s like they say when we fly – we need to secure our own oxygen masks first before helping others. If I didn’t get my life together, I wouldn’t be able to save anyone else.
To this day, I’ll never know how I survived.
But somehow I did – and when I finally decided enough was enough, I started from the inside out. I couldn’t be a hypocrite and claim to help others when I couldn’t even help myself.
But it was way harder than I thought it would be…
I quickly learned that determination alone wasn’t enough. I’d developed so many bad habits over the years that seemed impossible to break at the time – my credit card was maxed out, I had a payday loan to deal with, and I jumped from overdraft to overdraft. I was living in a stress-ception world that fed on itself and led to terrible eating habits and shattered my self-esteem. The prospect of quitting constantly sat on my shoulder, whispering in my ear and tempting me to quit.
It was almost too much to bear.
And so, I prayed.
I begged God to show me the way – the road away from this paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle and towards the freedom I’d been working so hard for, for so long.
Before long, God gave me the answers I needed…but I had to put in the work.
God gave me the inspiration I craved to keep going. He helped my stay disciplined, strong in the face of adversity and sacrifice, and trusting that my hard work WOULD eventually pay off. He inspired me to sharpen my skills. He led me to the books on financial freedom I needed to create. He never left my side on my road to finding my purpose and reaching my goals.
Eventually, He led me to my greatest discovery. The Money Plan.
This is what changed everything for me – the plan for making one’s dream life a reality even without a cent to your name. Sound impossible? The Money Plan changed (and saved…) my life. And now, I’m ready to share my secrets with you. And you, and you too…
I won’t sugarcoat it – you’re going to have to WORK.
Discovering the Money Plan was the stepping stone towards owning my story, and I kept persevering no matter how mysterious God’s planned seemed. Now that I’m on the other side, I can confidently say that the road to finding your purpose is painful – nothing good comes easy. But once it’s over and you’re there, where you want to be, you forget about the pain.
You realize that pain is temporary. Regret is forever.
